Developed Dance 290, “Bodyworks,” a survey of conditioning techniques and body-mind modalities, now required for dance majors at Humboldt State University, an “Area E,” (Human Integration) General Education offering, and a popular elective among students across many departments, including music, theater, athletics, nursing, psychology, etc.  (2001-2012)


Served as Program Director for Interdisciplinary Studies: Dance Studies Major, Humboldt State University (2009-2010)

-Advised approximately 35 Interdisciplinary Dance Studies majors, 30 Dance minors, and 4 Theater, Film, and Dance majors with emphasis          in Dance.

-Assisted with curriculum and program assessments

-Coordinated participation in American College Dance Festival Conference

-Coordinated two informal public showings and one formal main stage concert

-Recruited, met with, responded to, prospective students and parents

-Scheduled Dance classes

-Reserved and coordinated rehearsal spaces-times for dance faculty and students

-Was responsible for upkeep of dance program informational materials for brochures, catalog, and web site.

-Responsible for dance studio maintenance (cleanliness, safety, repair), equipment maintenance and acquisition, and library acquisitions.

            Have worked with diverse clientele, ranging in age from 8 to 82 years,          

ranging in interest and profession from athletes and dancers to attorneys, artists, psychotherapists, landscapers, computer technicians, etc.   The issues and difficulties they have presented have ranged from sciatica and sprained ankles to brain injury, spinal fusion, cerebral palsy, whiplash, herniated discs, frozen shoulders, etc.  Their recovery and improvement have ranged from moderate to dramatic.

Undergraduate Education was rigorous, especially in literature and writing, anthropology, history of art and philosophy.  Was accepted in the University of Michigan’s competitive “Arts and Ideas” program, which required and nurtured excellence in undergraduate writing and speaking skills.  Core curriculum examined literature and the arts in the context of historical and cultural framework, encouraged collaborative work and social consciousness.
